The huge Episcopal cathedral, Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine is still unfinished. The cathedral, begun in 1892 and first fully opened in 1941, provides guided and self-guided tours with opportunities to learn about its history, architecture, and spiritual offerings. Enter the cathedral through the great bronze doors, which were cast by Barbedienne (who also cast the Statue of Liberty). The doors, each 5.5 m (18 ft) high, are covered in 60 bas-relief scenes from the Bible.
