Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Central Market Hall and Herend Porcelain - Hadik Shop. Get in touch with nature at Palatinus Strandfürdő and Sas Hill Nature Reserve. And it doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at Fisherman's Bastion, take in the views from Szechenyi Lanchid, take a stroll through Andrassy Avenue, and admire the striking features of Dohány Street Synagogue.

To find ratings, other places to visit, maps, and more tourist information, refer to the Budapest road trip site.

If you are flying in from Israel, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. In August in Budapest, expect temperatures between 32°C during the day and 18°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Fri) so you can travel back home.
