One of the world's most ancient cities, Athens remains Europe's undisputed historical and cultural capital.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Acropolis of Athens and Ancient Agora of Athens. Explore hidden gems such as Temple of Hephaestus and Philopappos Hill. Take a break from Athens with a short trip to Temple of Poseidon in Sounio, about 1h 15 min away. Delphi — 3 nights

Ancient Greeks revered Delphi as the center of their universe, building an impressive sanctuary to Apollo in order to mark this sacred spot.
Get a sense of the local culture at Delphi and Delphi Archaeological Museum. Temple of Apollo In Delphi and The Tholos of Delphi will appeal to history buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Delphi: Hosios Loukas (in Distomo), Hani of Gravia (in Gravia) and Apollo temple (in Tholos). It doesn't end there: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Byzantine Church of Agia Eleousa (Panagia Mavromantila) and stroll through Itea Beach.

You can drive from Athens to Delphi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and taxi; or take a bus. Kalambaka — 4 nights

The gateway to one of the largest monastery complexes in Greece, the small town of Kalambaka nestles against a landscape of imposing rock formations rising 400 m (1,300 ft) into the air. Nearly leveled during World War II, the town rebuilt and reinvented itself in the post-war period, quickly becoming one of the region's major travel destinations.
You'll get in some beach time at Koutsoupia Beach and Platia Ammos Beach. Do some cultural sightseeing at Meteora and Monastery of the Great Meteoron. When in Kalambaka, make a side trip to see Paralia Agioi Saranta in Zagora, approximately Zagora away. There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Agios Stefanos, take in the spiritual surroundings of Roussanou Monastery, tour the pleasant surroundings at Varlaam Monastery, and pause for some serene contemplation at Byzantine Church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary.
