Crete's largest city, Heraklion remains best known for its proximity to a sprawling Bronze Age archaeological site, once the center of a vanished Minoan civilization.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Spinalonga (Kalydon) as well as Matala Beach. Start off your visit on the 29th (Tue): get a new perspective on nature at The Natural History Museum of Crete and then enjoy the sand and surf at Matala Beach. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at The Palace of Knossos, then observe the fascinating underwater world at CRETAquarium, and then head off the coast to Spinalonga (Kalydon).
