Create an itinerary including Poca Da Dona Beija
Take a break from your tour of Sao Miguel with a relaxing swim at Poca Da Dona Beija, a small spa featuring three natural pools of iron-rich water known for its therapeutic properties. Fed by a series of hot springs, the small pools remain at about 39 C (102 F), an ideal temperature for soothing tense muscles and easing pains associated with chronic rheumatism. On-site facilities include restrooms, showers, and changing rooms, as well as a small gift shop selling handmade jewelry. Keep in mind that the yellowish water can leave stains on your clothes, so wear an old bathing suit for your swim. For Poca Da Dona Beija and beyond, use our Furnas online day trip planner to get the most from your Furnas vacation.

  • This is good for a short visit. A bit too crowded, even in March. We arrived in late afternoon, so we saw it during day and lit up at night, which is nice. But I probably wouldn't do it again.

  • On a par with the Blue Lagoon in Iceland for relaxation and skin pampering, not so much for ambiance. We only dipped into the medium temperature pool, the very hot pool was just a little too...

  • Best thermal bath on the island. Try to be there as soon as it opens cause that way your entrance won’t be conditioned by other people having to leave before you can enter. It’s also really nice in the evening when they turn on the lights in the pools.
  • Great place. Calm and clean. There are rules and they definitely follow it to ensure safety for everyone. Kudos to the safety personnel working yesterday afternoon. I love it!!
