Experience centuries of Viking history at Saga Museum. The museum uses information from past Viking narratives to make sure its 17 exhibits recreate the timeline of Viking history in the most authentic way possible. Start with the Papar exhibit to learn about the first inhabitants of Iceland. Make your way to the Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði exhibit to learn about Iceland's conversion to Christianity. End with the Jón Arason exhibit, which teaches all you need to know about the Reformation. You'll receive an audio guide upon entering, which will explain the pieces throughout the museum. The museum is essentially a reflection of how Iceland came to fruition and this is told via narration on headsets and excellent wax work portrayals. It doesn't take too long to complete and you can dress up in Viking gear after and take photos. Pretty good but staff a bit indifferent towards customers with minimum interaction. A word of caution though it's pretty gruesome in parts especially near end of the tour so beware if you have kids with you.

Figurines were greatly detailed and well-made. Both the audio tour and the plaques were very informative and interesting. Gift shop had some good quality stuff too.
