Create an itinerary including Corinth Canal
Pass through Corinth Canal, one of the world's tightest navigable waterways, which separates the Peloponnese Peninsula from the rest of the Greek mainland. Before the canal's completion at the end of the 19th century, ships sailing between the Adriatic and the Aegean had to circumnavigate the peninsula, adding nearly 320 km (180 mi) to their journey. The waterway is just over 6 km (4 mi) long and only 21 m (70 ft) wide. Much too narrow to accommodate modern ocean freighters, this channel now mostly services tourist ships, attracting curious visitors from around the world. Make Corinth Canal a centerpiece of your Loutraki vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Loutraki planning app.

  • Incredible engineering. We visited the canal from above, using the vehicle and pedestrian bridges. Lots of parking available, making it a very east side trip to or from Athens.
  • Nice view, dust road on one side of canal. We can't found canal boat trip departure.
