Create an itinerary including Delphi
Delphi contain the remains of sanctuaries dedicated to the cults of Apollo and Athena, as well as several other structures presumably built for sports. Providing a glimpse into the ancient world's religious beliefs, these ruins joined the list of World Heritage sites in 1987. Tradition says Zeus determined this location as the center of Gaia, the great mother of all in Greek mythology. Apollo's sanctuary, built here in the 4th century BCE, served as the cultural and religious center of ancient Greece for many centuries. The sanctuary famously housed Apollo's oracle, a priestess capable of making prophesies by channeling the god's spirit. • Beautiful. Absolutely stunning. Just go here, trust me, it's worthwhile. Up to you whether you want to walk up to the stadium though; we didn't find it that interesting- though it was impressive.
  • Relatively small museum with great organization and presentation of the exhibits. The outdoor space is much bigger. on a hot day make sure you arrive early as there is not a lot of natural shade.
