Create an itinerary including Philopappos Hill
Philopappos Hill stands just southwest of the Acropolis and honors the memory of Philopappus, a Roman magistrate. Philopappus was a member of a wealthy and powerful family and was so well-liked that many people from powerful families mourned him. The two-story structure is adorned with sculptures that depict Philopappos in relief promenading and as a bust. Although only a portion of the memorial stands today, the entire monument was intact as late as the 15th century. You'll find the attraction perched on Mouseion Hill with gardens decorating the base. • Best place to view Parthenon/Acropolis around sunset and click amazing photos. When you come out of Acropolis, go down towards park entrance on opposite side and take stairs on left side in the park. Don't stop at this spot, you can go further on the top for full 360 degree view from hill top.
  • The best view of Acropolis hill! I love staying on this hill while staring at the Acropolis. I have this magical feeling seeing all these structures that were built centuries ago. Amazing place! I so love this hill in Athens!
