Create an itinerary including Philopappos Hill
Philopappos Hill stands just southwest of the Acropolis and honors the memory of Philopappus, a Roman magistrate. Philopappus was a member of a wealthy and powerful family and was so well-liked that many people from powerful families mourned him. The two-story structure is adorned with sculptures that depict Philopappos in relief promenading and as a bust. Although only a portion of the memorial stands today, the entire monument was intact as late as the 15th century. You'll find the attraction perched on Mouseion Hill with gardens decorating the base. • Not so tall hill but really worth the walk up. From here you can see really good 360° views of Athens including the Acropolis, the city, sea and surrounding mountains. Amazing sunset views here too! See attached pictures.
  • Absolutely incredibly point of view for the acropolis. Super light hike (walk) to get to the main points and it's a very interesting place. There are turtles in the hill by the way. Found that to be very interesting. Come here for sunset as the sun light shines directly on the temple and its more beautiful.
