The gardens of Schonbrunn palace--Schonbrunner Gardens--are as lavish and intricate as the palace itself. Within the gardens, you'll find a zoo, botanical garden, orangery, palm house, and a maze. Considered an extension of the palace, the gardens are accordingly designed with Baroque principles in mind. Notice the symmetry of the flowerbeds and strips of colored stones, which are inspired by embroidery patterns. Get lost in the maze, which was replanted in 1998 and closely follows the original layout. Find your way to the center, where you'll reach the viewing platform. Very beautiful place to spend some time with friends and family. A small hike to the cafe on hill which is so beautiful and the architecture of the cafe and interior is very antique and marvelous. Food is also nice you can have some wine beer too. Or sit outside on grass and have some relaxing time. There is a zoo also and toy train.

Schönbrunn is the place to go to if you're in Wien! Fantastic craftsmanship and a lot of history involved. What's even better are the many, many beautiful gardens, paths and statues around the castle itself. We had far too little time here, and could easily have spent an entire day here. A must see!
