Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Central Market Hall and Herend Porcelain - Hadik Shop. Get in touch with nature at Palatinus Strandfürdő and Roman Beach. There's lots more to do: test the waters at a local thermal spa, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), admire the striking features of Matthias Church, and appreciate the history behind Heroes' Square.

If you are flying in from Israel, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. August in Budapest sees daily highs of 32°C and lows of 18°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
