One of the world's most ancient cities, Athens remains Europe's undisputed historical and cultural capital.

When in Athens, make a side trip to see Temple of Poseidon in Sounio, approximately Sounio away. There's lots more to do: let your taste buds guide you at a local gastronomic tour, catch a live event at Panathenaic Stadium, take in the awesome beauty at Mount Lycabettus, and pause for some photo ops at Erechtheion.

If you are flying in from Romania, the closest major aiport is Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 22°C in November, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
