Puerto de la Cruz

— 9 nights

City of Eternal Spring

As one of Tenerife’s oldest port cities, Puerto de la Cruz embodies a hip, island personality, while still retaining its historic fishing village charm.
Venture out of the city with trips to Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Playa del Roque de las Bodegas, Parque Rural de Anaga, &more), Icod de los Vinos (Parque Andres de Lorenzo Caceres, ARTlandya, &more) and Mirador El Lagarito (in El Tanque). There's lots more to do: get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Loro Parque, get great views at Mirador de Amogoje, browse the collection at The English Library Tenerife, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Las Montanas de Anaga.

To find photos, traveler tips, where to stay, and more tourist information, you can read our Puerto de la Cruz trip itinerary maker.

The Route module can give you travel options from your home to Puerto de la Cruz. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Playa de las Americas.

Tenerife is the largest and most populous of the seven Canary Islands. With its abundance of sun-warmed beaches, deep gorges, dramatic cliffs, dense forests, and lush valleys filled with thriving banana plantations, the island offers an impressive variety of things to do: snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing, hiking, and cycling. You can even spelunk in the island’s volcanic caves and tunnels, among the largest in the world. Tenerife is also known for its nightlife, attracting thousands of weekend revelers from nearby European countries. The island is highly urbanized, though there are still pockets where visitors can enjoy the distinctive local culture and sightseeing at a slower pace.
