The gateway to one of the largest monastery complexes in Greece, the small town of Kalambaka nestles against a landscape of imposing rock formations rising 400 m (1,300 ft) into the air. Nearly leveled during World War II, the town rebuilt and reinvented itself in the post-war period, quickly becoming one of the region's major travel destinations.
On the 2nd (Tue), take in nature's colorful creations at Varlaam Monastery, contemplate the long history of Holy Trinity Monastery (Agia Triada), then take in the spiritual surroundings of Roussanou Monastery, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Meteora.

A growing favorite with international vacationers, Tsilivi sits on the northern coast of Zakynthos.
On the 6th (Sat), get some thrills on the water with a speed boat tour, then putt your heart out at Kalamaki Crazy Golf& Restaurant, and then have some family-friendly fun at Formula Zante Go Kart. On your second day here, relax in the rural setting at Therianos Family Farm, then learn about winemaking at Art & Wine Winery, then enjoy the sand and surf at Navagio Beach (Shipwreck Beach), and finally see the interesting displays at Aristeon Ecological Olive Press.
