  • It is difficult to find if you search on the Grand VIa: here in fact is the back of the church, and the entrance to no.17b looks like that of a palace; the elements to watch out for are the name of the church placed above the entrance of the aforementioned No.17b and a cross placed at the top of the circular wall of the entrance (and which is actually the outer apse of the church). Entering gran Via, however, you find yourself on what looks like the hall of an apartment building, and it's hard to figure out where to actually enter the church. Different is the case you enter from the main entrance that on calle of the Caballero de Gracia, parallel of Gran Via: here you will find a normal facade, neoclassical style and once you cross the threshold you will be directly in the temple. The interior is medium-sized, neoclassical in appearance, given above all by the presence of large granite columns with Corinthian capitals, but I do not want to say that they divide the environment into 3 aisles, as the space between the columns and the side walls is only that corridor. Inside the church I found no interesting elements or works, apart from the Christ of Agony (beautiful 17th-century wooden crucifix placed at the beginning of the sx wall); However, I mark the frescoes that embellish the dome on the cruise and the baroque organ in counter-facade. The church is currently run by Opus Dei.

  • Surprise the interior, which seems much more spacious than you expect. Ingenious naves design and oval dome, important paintings, organ and altar.

  • First and mainly, I am a practicing Catholic and its services say something significant to me. But, it is as well part of Madrid's historival patrimony.. Worthy of visiting.
  • It is a very prayerful church and a good place to go to confession there as priests are available. Moreover the remains of Blessed Guadalupe Ortiz de Landazuri are there. She was a chemestry lecturer and a member of Opus Dei.
