  • Calling it crystal palace is probably pretentious: it is still a large metal and glass structure, the interior of which is divided into 4 different spaces, separated from each other, to accommodate the plants of different environments: tropical, subtropical, desert, Temperate. The structure is modern and discreetly pleasant, but of course the reason of interest is in the botanical collection housed here, certainly interesting for an expert/enthusiast of the sector and a little less for the average tourist. In any case the entrance is free and you can take advantage to take a look also at the Matadero, which is right next door, as well as take a ride in the park Madrid Rio which is instead behind the property (the park Madridi Rio is about 7km long, along the banks of the Manzanarre River , and at this point it is quite narrow and perhaps less interesting than other parts, but the 2 modern bridges that cross the river here are peculiar; crossed the river you will also find the central comm.le Plaza Rio 2). For admission, summer hours are Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 2pm, while weekends and holidays from 10am to 2pm (in winter, which runs from 15/09 to 14/06, we and holidays are the same while on working days the opening is extended until 3pm). The nearest metro stop is LEGAZPI (located in the Arganzuela district).
