Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, Madrid

3.1
Both a research facility and an exhibition space, Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales is at the forefront of paleobiology and geology; it is also one of the first museums of natural history in the world. The exhibits range from ancient artifacts to recent finds currently being studied by on-site researchers. Exhibits are located primarily on the ground and first floors in a series of themed rooms. In these, you'll notice prehistory, paleontology, geology, and entomology sections, and one for decorative arts. This last unexpected treat is a must see for textile enthusiasts. Check the hours on the website before visiting, as they change during festivals, holidays, and weekends. • We really liked the museum and the rooms. The identifying posters of each piece seemed a little confusing and everything was written in Latin without translation so there are some animals that you don't know what they are. I'm sorry they don't have a coffee shop in good condition, just a few vending machines. Fatal.

  • Interesting museum of natural sciences of Madrid. The truth is, I was expecting more. Spaces properly distributed, with lots of letter in the display cases and little interactive and different training. Too many people in the museum with not very good faces.

  • A nice environment, quite accessible but not too big. The diversity of elements is quite nice and you're able to see it in around 2-3 hours. There are some projections, but you need to check the time to be able to coordinate your entry. Very nice and varied.
  • It's a small but nice museum. I enjoyed my tour of the museum. Loved the part on women in science. There's not much to see but still enjoyable with sufficient information on national biology.
