Madrid Chamartín is the name of the second major railway station in Madrid, Spain. Positioned on the north side of the city, it was built between 1970 and 1975, although subsequent work would be carried on into the early 1980s. At that time it superseded Atocha station, located closer to the city centre. After Atocha itself was rebuilt in 1992, Chamartin lost much of its importance, even though since 2004 it has undergone changes to accommodate the new high-speed line to León.Put Estacion de Chamartin at the forefront of your travel plans using our Madrid day trip tool .

Placed over the Chamartín Station is the Hotel Chamartín.

Little cash and prices in the norm (11 euros for a high-speed train to Segovia)
En mi paso por esta estación se me ocurrió acércame al wc de la 1ª planta , al lado de la farmacia. Allí uno puede pillar hasta “ ebola” si te descuidas. Olor nauseabundo, suciedad en suelo, puertas ,... more »In my time through this station it occurred to me to approach me to the toilet of the 1st floor, next to the pharmacy. There you can catch up to "Ebola" if you neglect. Nauseating smell, dirt on floor, doors, walls and ceiling. They shouldn't clean it up but tear it down. It's embarrassing. What an image I take from Madrid
