  • It panics to go alone, better with a family or with friends, if there are buses that carry, very close to the Manzanares, but it is scary to enter, I feel a very strange energy.

  • Frankly I do not usually make "tourist" visits to the cemeteries (neither in Spain nor abroad) but they have been talking me for so long about the Sacramental de San Isidro and his works that it ended up stinging my curiosity. I decided to do it through a guided view because I thought they would better explain both iconography, the history of the most famous "residents" or the best funerary ensembles. The decision frankly has not disappointed me although the two hours of the route were somewhat scarce (but sufficient in terms of attention). I must highlight the work of the guide who not only tries to reach all members of the hearing but attract the attention of young children if they accompany us (as was the case) The cemetery (at least the part I saw) has large and impressive pantheons of the nineteenth century (and some not curious of the twentieth century) that is worth visiting. It's best to go for a walk and let yourself (literally) be impressed. Within this route you will find monuments carved by sculptors of the level of Querol, Benlliure, Avalos... In conclusion it is a different and different view.

  • One of the best places in Madrid to see. It is not just a huge historical cemetery with family tombs big as a churches in smaller cities but behind that you will find also a present time cemetery which is also visually very interesting and I recommend not to miss also this part. Historical part is offering hundreds of beautiful pieces of art - sculptures, huge chapels, tombs and columned alleys. I spent 3 hours admiring all of that. Almost no tourists around. It is possible to book guided tour, but probably just in Spanish language.
  • An historic and very large cemetery on a hill overlooking the city of Madrid. The cemetery is situated around the hermitage of San Isidro.
