  • Not only is it the oldest palace to overlook the quiet plaza of La Villa, but it appears to be Madrid's oldest civilian building, built in the 15th century. In fact, the palace (which occupies the eastern side of the square) is composed of 2 distinct factory bodies: the one closest to Calle Mayor, which includes the tower and the attached hall at Civic No.2, with a monumental portal that bears, as an ornament, the shields of the Lujan family (constructive age about 1470); the second body of the factory is the following, at the house number 3, marked by an entrance with a horseshoe portal. The palace is home to the Academia de Ciencias Morales y Polticas and is not open to the public. In front of this palace, on the other side of the square, there is the sixteenth-century palace of La Villa, while the southern side of the square is occupied by the Casa Cisneros (XVI century).

  • These buildings, built in Gothic-Mudejar style are among the oldest for civilian use that exist in Madrid. It is currently the headquarters of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences and the Matritense Economic Society of Friends of the Country. During some works that were made appeared a deck of cards that today is preserved in the Academy of History, and is one of the oldest preserved.

  • Grand old building holding a lot of history, looking at all the coat of arms, in this very popular and historic plaza. Apparently now it is a private house.
  • This is the oldest private building in Madrid, built in the XV century by the Lujan family. It is said that the French King Francisco l was hosted or prisoner here by the Emperor Carlos V. Now days this tower is occupied by the Real Sociedad Económica Matritense de Amigos del País
