  • Casa de la Villa has lots of history behind it. It is several centuries old but it looks pretty good for its age! The architecture is fantastic. It was the Town Hall for most of its life until recent ...  more »
  • Surely as soon as you set foot on the plaza de La Villa you are attracted by this great 17th-century palace that occupies the western side of the square and that with its 2 side towers ending in cusp (a third is on the side that skirts calle Mayor) reminds a little of the shovels fairy tales, or at least more Nordic panoramas. The palace was the seat of the city's town hall until 2007, although it is still owned by the municipality and used mostly for plenary sessions. As a result it is not open to visitors inside (apart from special occasions). At the beginning of the 20th century an elevated passage was built to connect it with the palace that occupies the southern side of the square (Casa Cisneros). Also take a look at the side on Calle Mayor, where in 1789 the colonnad gallery was built that can still be observed today.

  • Excellent menu and staff service. It was so delicious that we came back two more times during our stay in Madrid.
  • It Highlights its sun clock painted on the facade of the House of the Sail, occupying almost the five floors of the building, the piece that projects the shadow part of a woman leaning to a balcony that is tending the clothes. The clock shows the hours ranging from five in the morning to five in the afternoon, is adorned with a dove and different symbols.
