  • This long road also heads north from Gran Via (right at the corner of the Telefonica building) and, as mentioned in the title, is located on the border between Malasasa and Chueca (so let's say it belongs to both neighborhoods). It's not a very wide street, but it's long, well-paved, tree-lined and lined with beautiful palaces. Like all the streets of the city, it changes its appearance depending on when you pass: at 8.00 in the morning it looks almost desolate, with very few people around and all the shops closed, while on Saturday afternoons with all the shops open the street comes alive as if to be enchanted , many people walking or entering/leaving the shops (despite at that specific time the weather was not really lenient). The initial section is completely pedestrianized and has on both sides an uninterrupted succession of shops (mostly clothing); after the pedestrian section is finished, the shops become more varied and bars, ice cream parlours and eating clubs are added; the street, however, retains its very animated character. Arriving at the Tribunal metro stop, you will find on the left the courthouse, while on the right the history museum of Madrid: of these do not miss the scenic Baroque portal. Just before arriving at the Courthouse, at the intersection with Calle Sta.Barbara, there is the nice covered market of San Ildefonso, very popular.

  • Central street that goes from Alonso Martínez to Gran via and very commercial. Currently it is pedestrian and interesting to take a walk.
