  • Passed TO THE MADRID HISTORY, the Acteón cinemas had several cinemas that were already deteriorated... now it seems they're going to build a hotel.

  • In November of 2017, after 22 years of use-opened in 1995 - bid farewell, forever, the Acteon cinema, located in the calle Montera, a multiplex opened that year to modernise the range of projections in the area. The film was not always the sultry site that was in its last stages. Those days well received the arrival of the enclosure, and people came, before the advent of the internet, to fill its nine rooms on a regular basis, what predicted you a stable future. However, this did not happen. The passage of time he sat badly with this installation. Facing the growing supply in image, sound quality and sizes of other halls, the emergence of formats like IMAX or 3D, and the modernization of facilities that already exceeded, by far, to the Actaeon, in ten years this film was immersed in the past thinking that their existence was assured, and that nothing could make viewers to give back. The downfall of this film, the film itself and the workers have much of the blame. The facilities were completely obsolete. Rooms were very small, the seats were very worn and dirty, the screen was small and poor sound which was carried today. Often the films started without sound or with the room lights on, and had to leave to find someone to fix the problem. The workers were not at the height. Manager walked with an Atlético de Madrid tracksuit for the facilities, which gave an unfortunate picture. The other employees state very disconnected from everyday reality. Barely managed Internet shopping, and didn't cope well when you presentabas them an entry stored in the phone. Nor could pay with card in box office, nor inside, and the food sold was very expensive and of bad taste, which gave an idea of the anachronism of these cinemas, at a time when this type of leisure has changed completely from 1995 a time when they were still installed. The cashiers were very clumsy, and the sales system failed often, with what you gave, instead of the entry, a piece of paper, as those who were employed in the 1980s. The cleaning of the premises left much to be desired. The seats were very dirty and sunk, it was common to find remains of food on the ground and on the chairs, and employees were more willing to attend their talks among them, to resolve complaints of who gave them to eat. Printing causing was not of a professional business, but a group of friends who gathered to talk between them, and they received to the spectators with a blatant pasotismo. Even, sometimes collecting entrance with a cigar in his hand, while they wore the cashier that was put in the Plaza del Carmen a glass of Coca Cola until they opened you the metal window that was on the outside. The film was a complete disaster, and the amazing thing is that they had not closed before. If the business owners had reacted in time and on the day of the show, they would have saved, but they opted to continue in the past, and the present has consumed them. Good luck to all former employees.
