Also known as Scott’s Market among those who remember the British rule, the market serves as the city's most popular tourist destination for shopping. With over 1,600 shops, the loosely organized market offers a wide range of choices for local products, with streets around the covered market also offering a variety of goods. The market was easy to navigate. Very nice exterior to photograph. There are many jewellery shops here selling precious stones and jades. At the sides of the market you can find the stalls selling fabrics and clothing. You can pick up the Myanmar traditional clothing here or a souvenir T-shirt. On the upper floors, there are fabrics with weaved patterns as well. Overall, a good place to visit to have a look at what is on offer in Yangon.
Huge bustling market which is a lot of fun to simply just wander around or pick up souvenirs and really anything else you'd ever want to buy. It can be a bit daunting to find your way around, but it's perfectly safe and there are always lots of other tourists wandering around as well. I bought a couple souvenirs and found prices were totally reasonable without needing to bargain beforehand.
