Wander among the relics and artifacts of the ancient Minoan civilization at Archaeological Museum of Mykonos. The small museum features displays of pottery, jewelry, weapons, funerary urns, marble statues, and clay figurines ranging from the prehistoric to the late Hellenistic period. The highlight of the collection remains a large pithos--a storage container in the shape of a vase--with the earliest representation of the fall of Troy dating from the 7th century BCE. Look also for the statue of Heracles from the picturesque islet of Rheneia and the Archaic Hydria decorated with floral patterns and images of horses.
