Located at the main city square, Syntagma Station provides an ideal starting point for your tour of Athens. This metro station offers a convenient link to the airport and the city's main railway station, and serves as a major transportation hub for public buses, trams, and taxis. From this point you can easily walk to the Greek parliament building or explore the nearby pedestrian-friendly shopping district. Built on the site of an ancient necropolis, the station now doubles as a museum, displaying a small portion of nearly 30,000 artifacts unearthed during the construction of the modern subway system. Syntagma Station Reviews
Een metro station. Niet meer en niet minder. Ja er zijn (matige) bezienswaardigheden te zien en indien echt geïnteresseerd in archeologie ga dan naar de musea. Het is er druk dus let op uw eigendommen... more »A metro station. No more and no less. Yes there are (moderate) sights to see and if really interested in archaeology then go to the museums. It is crowded so watch your belongings (pickpockets!). Advantage is if you are coming from the airport, you get off in the center. Tip: From the airport you can also take the bus (X95). Costs: 6 EUR and 65 + reduction: 3 EUR. Do not show ID.
Foi a primeira estação, para além da do aeroporto, que nos permitiu aceder o centro movimentado de Atenas. Saímos por volta das 8h na estação de Syntagma e aproveitamos para solicitar o bilhete económ... more »It was the first station, in addition to that of the airport, which allowed us to access the bustling centre of Athens. We left around 8am at Syntagma station and took the opportunity to request the 5-day budget ticket on limits when using metro lines. The service was fraquissimus, unclear and little empathic, which led to the linguistic barrier becoming even greater. What we thought was most unfortunate was meeting at the same time as talking about Greek with someone via personal cell phone not paying attention to what they were doing. As a station, syntagma is a huge advantage for the city, making the connection between lines, being therefore quite busy. Unlike many stations, it is equipped with multiple escalators that allow for greater traffic fluidity of people.
